It's that time of year again when you and your loved ones get to experience food heaven during San Diego Restaurant Week!  Held twice a year, this celebration of amazing and creative cuisine highlights more than 180 of our city's finest restaurants, including some of our very own from the Busalacchi family! Happy Easter and Happy Spring!

It's official! The days are getting longer, daffodils are blooming and Via Lago Trattoria is planning our ever-popular Easter brunch…it must be spring! On Sunday March 31, the restaurant will be full of families eager to celebrate the holiday at our annual brunch. We love to see the parade of families: the grandparents, aunts, uncles, parents and kids at overflowing tables in their Sunday best. To celebrate Easter, we feature a carving station with peppered filet and brown sugar glazed ham, an omelet and waffle station (think: waffles piled high with whipped cream and strawberries…the kids love that this counts as breakfast!). Next is the salad station complete with four choices, as you can’t eat your chocolate treats without a little green first: cucumber salad, a mixed green, a Caesar and cannellini bean salad. Good Food, Good Wine and You

Yes, we really do listen to our customer’s food comments. After serving our butternut squash ravioli in its lovely amaretto cream sauce with caramelized walnuts as a weekend special, it has earned its place as one of our new dinner menu entrees at Via Lago Trattoria. Butternut squash has found its way on our regular pasta page right next to another popular new entrée: the Pappardelle Via Lago with short ribs. The wide pappardelle noodles are perfect to grab the rich Barolo wine sauce, which is full of tender short ribs, mushrooms and carrots.
