Every year, our charming neighborhood of Little Italy hosts the annual two-day Mission Federal ArtWalk Festival. It’s San Diego’s original fine art festival celebrating local artists and musicians, while getting the locals involved. For over 30 years, Mission Federal Credit Union is sponsoring the festivities by lining up live music and dance performances, as well as art activities for the young and the young-at-heart!
The free public outdoor exhibition runs up and down the main drag that we know as India Street, including side streets, starting from Beech Street all the way to Grape Street. There will be booths set up with artists’ original work, including paintings, photography, sculptures and more!
Little Italy is an old-school neighborhood with family values, so we are happy to say that ArtWalk 2014 promotes family love by offering over 15 different hands-on activities for children! On top of that, there will be music rocking the air on five different stages, as well as different stops to grab a bite to eat!
So, during the weekend of April 30th – May 1st, from 11a.m. to 6p.m., make sure to come to Little Italy to check out The ArtWalk! Don’t forget to take a break and stop by one of Busalacchi’s San Diego Italian Restaurants. Cafe Zucchero for your coffee & Gelato (along with other Italian Desserts) needs, and Trattoria Fantastica for a nice lunch with your family. Unfortunately, Barbusa (formerly Po Pazzo) will not be available – it’s still being remolded.
